It depends what side of the fence your on to call someone ignorant. If I'm selling salt at a give away prices. And a consumer ask for an even lower price. And I can't do it because we would lose money on the sale. I suppose that if you consider that ignorant I'm guilty. And when the
same person asks for a special price for an expensive fish and they get it. Why would that person ask and expect an additional 10% off. Whose being ignorant then. The consumer or the store? If the same person tells me that he can buy the salt online and we then check. But we find out that it's $8.00 more online. But customer then says he doesn't have to pay sales tax. I'm a bit confused about their point. We go out and ask distributors for special prices on merchandise including livestock. And then we pass the discount along to our customers so they also get a very deep discount. Is that also ignorant?

guess the deep discounts didn't get passed down to you that day odigo90. did you tell them your a MR member for the discount? wish I left empty handed. I bought two corals there and a few days later aiptasia heads popped out of both corals. didn't want to risk it so I just tossed them out.

Why would you throw out a coral just because a aiptasia popped up on it? If you throw out every coral or rock that something pop up on it you wouldn't have anything left in your tank.

it wasn't just 1 aip it was more like 6 on each coral. if I tried to kill them and get a aip outbreak than I would really have nothing left in my tank. sorry I run a aiptasia free tank. Preach

Did u have some kind of agreement b4 hand for something? not sure why it's lfs fault that u decided to drive from far away those posts always make me laugh like the lfs owes u something

I've been in this hobby for 7 yrs can't ever remember leaving a negative comment about a lfs its a sm business and someone's lively hood if I have a bad exp I just don't go back!
less lfs is bad for us hobbiest the more lfs the better sales cheaper prices more competition

I agree. But it's not that my friend. It's all about how they treat you and make you feel! When I go there to get 3 boxes of salt on sale and the owner tells you in your face: "Ok your total is $117 with taxes..." and then does not give their 10% off on livestock that you want? How should it make you feel?

It's not a negative comment, just a wake up call. We do need more vendors!

I've been to the store multiple times and its one of the best stores imo.

This store announces sales almost every week and the prices are sometimes unbeatable.
They do offer a 10% discount to MR members but if the owner is right and he gave you a really good price on an expensive fish then I don't see how you can then ask for an additional discount.

Again I'm not really sure what happened so I'm only speculating but all in all its a great store and the owner really tries to accommodate the customers.

Two weeks ago I called almost every fish store on long island looking for fertility frenzy and Alan was the only person that said he will include it in his next order. Some other stores said point blank they never heard of it and don't carry it.
