Well I followed the instructions on this page http://www.sparklingfloorservice.com/tank/overflow.html and was able to construct my very own overflow. Its 11 inches wide and so the weir overflow part has a surface area of 5.5 sq in. For reference, a 1 inch tube has .785 sq in of surface area. So it can easily support up to 3 1 inch drain tubes if needed. It was great fun, but the best part is that it cost a grand total of $15 for all parts, acrylic, and weld-on :D I tried to take pictures, but since its clea acrylic, none turned out very good. Any advice on what background to use to try and make the thing appear in a picture?

There are many tricks you can use, some are good, some are... well, bad. Examples?

Try to take the pic at a slight angle. Usually you will see it.

Use a sand paper to cratch the he11 out of your overflow so that it will show up... ;)

Maybe people in the photo forum can give you some hint too... :?

there are quite a few things you can do. You can put Saran Wrap on the back of it, that way it wont scratch it and you can take it right off, use a backdrop of opposite color of the Saran Wrap, i use blue when i do this type of thing.

Give it a shot and let me know if it works out for you..
