Web Cam

Just for interest sake, I was wondering does anyone run a web cam on their fish tank? I was thinking of this lately while I am sitting at work and wondering how my fishies were doing and what were they doing. Especially if you have to add a new fish/coral/invert into the tank...

I just wanna know if anyone else has thought about it or done it?

Npaden in our chatroom (#reefs) does, but it's not always on. I don't know anyone nowadays who has a 24/7 webcam.

Right on ... I think it would be koo to view other peoples tank through a web cam...

But ya I was more thinking turning it on when i leave for work and off when I get home so I can check it out at lunch or breaks so see how everyone is doing Especially any new additions i can barely concentrate at work, as I wonder how they are getting along, eating, swimming, etc..

This seemed to be a bigger deal about a year ago... everyone since has seemingly reduced the amount of on time for cameras.

I imagine the technology has gotten better and you can really run a pretty good cam these days with a broadband connection though.

I have all the infrastructurre set up to do it, but since I moved into my house, the tanks are just too far away fromt he computers.

So you going to set one up someday or is it on the back burner?

I know a couple of people who use them for viewing the tank from work/out of town so they can verify everything is going well....

I already have a wireless cam that is going to be hooked up to the battery back up as well, I wanna be able to view the tank at all time due to the fact I leave town every week for two or three days at a time. once I get it up I will post my IP addy and you guys can check it out.
