Perhaps you can make your watermark a little smaller. I don't know about everyone else but it takes away from the picture for me. I find that if you make a smaller one you can still place it somewhere on the subject where the pic would look funny if a thief simply cropped it out. I also keep all my originals to prove my pics are in fact mine whenever I need to.
