Reefapalooza strategy

Hey everyone, I am going to try and make the trip over to NJ for reefapalooza and wanted to pick peoples brains on their strategy as I am going to try and stick to a budget.

So with the budget in mind I normally would go Saturday morning trying to target specific corals but this time I am debating going later on Sunday with the hopes of getting a better deal on something random.

Has anyone had success with that strategy, finding a fire coral at the end of the conference or is everything pretty well picked over by that time and you might get a deal but on something that I might already have?

In my experience you will get better deals, but bottom of the barrel along with stressed corals.

See that is an angle I did not consider, the stress on the corals. Looks like Saturday with a strict budget is the choice.

this is what i did last year, although i gotta say its kinda tough sticking to a budget so i suggest only bringing cash and leaving your card in the car.

Stressed corals is not a major issue that I’ve noticed. Maybe from 1 or 2 vendors at each show and you’ll notice it by cloudy water or corals not opened.

I think this happens with vendors that rush their stands or arent adequately prepared for the shows, as they setup a day or two in advance and give the corals a chance to relax.
