Which is better to use for hooking up a sump?

Looking for reccomendations in terms of reliability, noise, ease of maintenance, and price.

I like PVC for plumbing. Vinyl ain't bad but over time I start to freak out that it will crack and leak.

over time ,anything start to leak that has running water going through it

ive used pvc when i started off my tank and let me tell you i used a crap load of 90 degree elbows for the return and 2 for the overflow water... U waste alot of GPH especially on the return line.. i changed out the pvc on the return to spa flex tubing and it works great no problems...

What size tank/sump are you plumbing. I used flexible pvc on my 75G no problem but I wouldn't try it on the 205, everything is pvc piping. And sure you'll need lots of elbows depends on space for plumbing but it may seal better than flexible piping.

Use flexible PVC and rigid PVC. Vinal tubing can kink and is too big of a headache. Flexible PVC is great to work with, is much more forgiving to bumps and you have more "flexibility" in getting it to fit.

46 gallon tank and 14 gallon sump.
My overflow handles max 300gph. My return pump is an eheim 1260 which is about 600 gph. I'm going to route the return to a ballvalve, union, and then a scwd, so i'm actually looking to lose a bit of gph so that it will be less then the overflow.
