Hi I was told I needed a Compact Fluorescent Lighting:Blue Moon Glow LED for my reef in order to give quality to my corals, was this information wrong ? did I buy the wrong thing?
It all depends on the size of your tank, the corals you intend to keep and the current lighting you have.
Post a list of the equipment you are using, the corals and fish you have, what is in the tank (live rock, live sand) and the water chemistry parameters if you know them. I am sure you will find several people willing to give you some recommendations (me included)
Soft corals and some LPS corals will be ok under PC lighting however if you want to keep higher lighting LPS and SPS you should look into T5 lighting or metal halide lighting. they are more expensive but also allow you to have different corals. Let your tank cycle, get a protien skimmer, see if you can make a sump, and then worry about the lighting.
You can use the search function here to get info on sumps, protien skimmers and stuff. Get a catalog to an online store like Dr Fosters and Smith and read the descriptions on the products to see what they do.
