PC bulb choices...

just wanted to give a tip for anyone getting PC bulbs - I have an Orbit 80w PC setup (the square pin bulbs). I had one actinic/blue and one 8k/10k mix bulb. It looke ok, but not great.

I just got two 50/50 10k/actinic bulbs- wow what a differance!!!! Soooo much nicer in color - a nice white w/ some blue and plenty of 'pop' on the colors!! :birthday:

I started my reef life with a 30g tank and dual 96w PC's that were both 50/50's I grew everything in there including sps and a maxima - great bulb combo - keep them new, though (10 months) and you'll never go wrong.

On my 10 gallon I had two 32 w. one 10kk and one 'actinic' blue. None of my corals ever flouressed, but I liked the look.

i would say that most people would like the look of the 50/50 bulbs more- my tank had a much more 'yellow' look to it before i changed bulbs...
