I'm about to quarantine SPS for the first time and was wondering if I need to get my hands on some better lighting for the QT tank. I currently have a 20 watt 50/50 PC bulb and I'm a bit nervous that the SPS wont survive the qt period. Can SPS survive 2-3 weeks without intense lighting? I have a 2.5gallon and a 10 gallon for QT, so I was planning to put it into the 2.5 gallon so the watts/gallon ratio would be higher.

t-5 is a good, energy efficient choice for an SPS QT. As House said though, your other parameters are more important during the QT time. Stability. Good flow will also help.
Many people in this hobby have had entire tanks wiped out due to disease and still do not QT. Great job and good luck setting up the QT. It should be as good as you can possibly make it. BB, LR, t-5, good flow and the best skimmer you can find for it.
