Algae on my Feather Duster

I have a feather duster in my tank, and it's currently collecting quite a collection of hair algae. (In general, I am fighting the hair algae in my tank - I know, I know, new tank syndrome, everyone goes through it.) I doesn't seem to be bothering it, and it's definitely grown since I put it in my tank. Should I attempt to clean it off, of should I just not bother and hope the hermits/snails do it for me?

its probably only on the base (casing (brown shell)) of the duster right? No need to worry.

like drunk said if it's on the casing no need to worry. unless it grows so out of control that the feather won't come out but i don't think that will be the case

Well, I mean it's all over the tube - not just at the base of the tube where it has affixed to the rock. But no, there is no algae on the actual "duster" part of the feather duster.
