In line water pump questions

I was wondering how most of you fill your tanks, do water changes etc. Do you use in-line pumps or the bucket method?

I'm asking because I'm thinking of buying an in-line pump to help me move water without tracking water all over the place. What pumps do you recommend? Anything I should look out for.

I use submerible pumps

I use a submersible utility pump, a Little Giant. I picked it up at HD. I pump the water from garage to my living room upstairs.

Buckets. My tank is small and my fuge is easily accessible. I siphon out into a bucket and to refill I dump into the fuge that is full of Cheato, so I can dump right on top of the Cheato without disturbing anything.

I use a maxijet with tubing for transfering water between the tank and bucket
