New Tank Problem

I justed switched my old 40 gallon tank to a new 46 bow but i did it in such a rush that my tank leans to the back alittle and i can move it wit my finger it wabbles if i clean the glass what should i do.

aslo my tank is on carpet and i cant cut the carpet out.

shims try that first.your tank needs to be level though or else you may get a leak.

Your tank should be level to avoid breaking. The best way to do that is to level the stand, typically with shims. You will likely need to remove enough water to allow you to jack the stand and install shims. I would be reluctant to lift the stand by hand, but a car jack might work.

How much out of level is the unit? I would be comfortable using shims to make up to a 1/2 or 3/4 inch adjustment.

Obviously having the tank on a carpet isn't ideal. Since you can't cut it out, the best thing to do is put a piece of plywood under the stand. Try to make it a few inches bigger than the stand, it will help some. Do you have any children or pets that can accidentally bang into the tank?

Shims aren't going to help on a deep pile carpet at all. Is is deep pile carpet or a commercial type carpet? On a commercial it may help some.

I hate to say it, but drain the tank down and fix the problem, otherwise you're asking for trouble... 46g might seem like a small volume of water in the tank, but it's not so small on the floor.

oh my bad i thought it was just on a floor not a rug.im with dig drain water and do it properly

Drain the tank and fix the problem. You can create a stress point on the tank and it can break.

The 40 was not level but it didnt wabble like this tank i think because its bow front it wabbles more
