I bought the 3 dominoe damsels with the idea/hope that when they grow up two will pair off and then I can remove the odd guy out.

Think the chances are good or will I just wind up with one owning each end of the tank?

Domino Damsels are very aggressive so chances are they all might fight with one another. Most damsels from what i've heard are easier to breed then most fish, but so many variables come into this like the size of your tank and such. If two do pair however, that one left out Domino is really going to be picked upon.

Ya I know they are aggresive. Its a 55 gl and these will be the only fish in it (as far as look at/ for show fish) and the store told me I can bring one or two back at any time.

They arent actually in the tank yet, they are at the store still I wanted to wait a while with the tank running and a little lr in it to cycle, but no amonia has appeared Not a lot of stuff on the rock and I want to leave lots of room for the future "show" rocks that critters come on.
Maybe Ill just drop two in it and let nature take its course.

Was going to wait a few months and get a fish that makes people go "ooh and ahh" then KISS hit me and I settled on the damsels.

Not crazy about using fish to cylce a tank but with charcoal filters and water changes they should be ok. And I have ammex on hand if needed, but that stuff may not be good for the little bugs in the rock.

Not sure why no cycle has kicked in as I see lots of tiny brittlestars and small bristleworms, Im certain some died during the transfer from store to tank.

If anyone wants to know or cares kiss means Keep It Simple Stupid.

Thanks for the reply.
P. S. I wasnt wanting a breeding pair, just a pair that didnt try to kill each other. Im leaning toward a sps tank eventualy. Lots more studying to do.

By the way if ya get a chance and havent seen the store, check it out.
They have what i call a lagoon for displaying corals.
Its like 10 foot wide, 12-14 foot long and about 2 foot deep.
There are raised platforms on pvc/eggshell with corals displayed and a lot of diffrent colors and types. Its really cool.
