draining - about 600-650gph....

pushing - probably 1200-1500 gph before you have friction issues....

what is the bulkhead being used for?

This is just the first steps in planing a tank. I was trying to figure out how much drainage flow to the sump.

Teddy

P.S. Do you think that is enough or to much flow for a sump for a 29 gal tank?

Would you also install a closed loop for more flow in the tank?

Thanks

It's really a personal preference thing. In a tank that size a couple of powerheads will provide plenty of flow. I prefer to keep things as simple as possible and I'm not one who is traumatized by the sight of a powerhead so I probably wouldn't bother with the CL...

Louey,
I ordered the weld-on and got that thurs. and some arcylic and it has been in for a while. So mon. and tues. we are closed I will go in and cut a little piece and see how it goes.

Did you install the bulkheads along the bottem side of the sump?
I think they are going to be great all the way at the bottom like that.

And what are the big holes for in those two plates on the out put side?

Thanks
Teddy

No. That sump is 100% the way Lifereef made it, minus the crack anyways. ;)

Those hold Lifereef filter cylinders. http://www.lifereef.com/frame.html

They are great for running carbon, phosphate remover, or whatever. You should order a one or two from lifereef.

The two little holes in that plate are probe holders. They work great too.

Louey
