I had planned to purchase an OM 4-way at $340 then decided I could neck the output on a Sequence Snapper down to 1" and use the Super Squirt assuming the super flows 2500 as advertised. I started doing the math and realized I could buy a Vortech cheaper than the closed loop and would be real close to buying two if I kept the plumbing the right sizes with the 4-way. I don't mind doing the plumbing, I like the fact that the returns are up high and hidden and don't care for the vortechs being on the side glass.
4-way $340
Snapper $195
Total $535 not including plumbing and hassle
Super Squirt $225
Snapper $195
Total $420
Vortech only $340
My tank is only a 75g but without 2 vortechs i wouldn't get an alternating current. So would 1 vortech keep SPS well or would I need to buy two to get the alternating flow, or since my tank is small would staying with the Oceans Motions setup be better.
Drilling my tank this weekend for overflows/returns and ordering whichever you guys thinks is the best.
