I want to setup an tank just with an eel in it and i'm going for caribbean theme in a 54 gal so i was thinking for Goldentail Moray or Chainlink they both get around 24-28 inches long, websites aren't helping because they keep giving me different information on and min. tank size and such. I have been researching for 1.5 months now and i'm still confused. I was also researching the jeweled eel but i got one website saying it's get 60 inches long and 2 other ones saying 24 inches ????? Please i need help

yep, Oldmanofthesea is a good person to ask. I have a 50 gallon and have a snowflake eel, which will be marginally too large for my tank. My eel is only 8 inches long so I have a long time till he outgrows my tank, but I will be upgrading to a 100+ gallon tank in a year anyways.

For a 50 gallon tank he did recommend a dwarf eel, which are not cheap. Something I learned from Oldmanofthesea is that be aware of their main diet. My snowflake's main diet are crabs, which I did not know. Luckily I'm in Seattle and fresh/live seafood is easily accessible.
