my CPR overflow is acting up. right underneath the nipple that connects to the aqualifter an airbubble forms, this airbubble has always been there, but usually a relatively small bubble and i had no problems. now the air bubble is very large and and the tank overflows. i have to manualy suck from the exhaust part of the aqualiftter to suck out the bubble. once the bubble is gone the overflow works, but within 15 mins the bubble is back.is this a problem with the pump? maybe the airline tubing is too dirty. i silicone the nipple down in case air was getting though there but that didnt help...

ok here is the deal.1 you have to change out the tubing as it will get clogged up.2 the air pocket will get bigger and slow down the flow.i have ran into this problem many times with my folks tank as they also have the same cpr +problems.shut off the aqualifter(and return pump.) and pour some water in the back baffle inside the cpr, adding the water there will help push out the air bubble, once you tried that start running everything and see what happens.there are a bunch of things to try so ill follow your thread.also if you can take a paper clip and clear out the little hole in the nipple as this can get clogged real easy.HTH.D

Every once in a while you should run the pump with some vinegar. They tend to clog up.What I do is take it apart(which I really don't recommend unless your very carefull ) and then I put it together and put some vinegar in a cup and let the vinegar recirculate for about 20 minutes then rinse again and your back to normal suction on the pump.

I always keep 2 or 3 of those on hand for when they act up. I find I need to replace them periodically because they stop working. I've never tried running vinegar through them though (probably a good idea).

that was just an example of the the silencer. i bought the overflow used from someone on this site, they threw in the silencer so i assume it can keep up with the GPH of the overflow.

when i say the tank overflowed, i dont mean it spilled over the overflow box, the main tank overflowed
