Hey,

I'm about to buy some starboard for my new tank and I was talking to my plastics guy and he said he had both textured and flat in HDPE. I know cooking boards are textured so I'm assuming thats what most have in the tank. But if you had a choice which would it be? Would the flat be easier to clean (if you were going to) and better for flow to get detritus off it? But does the textured hold rocks better? Maybe a trivial question but thanks.

Thanks J, I'm still leaning towards flat because I can't remember who, but I think someone was having trouble with turf algae and was telling me it was too hard to get it all off the starboard.

Steven, the white reflects light better and doesn't show dirt as much. But both with get covered with coralline unless you try to clean them. When clean I think the white makes the tank look brighter. The back of my tank will be black already so i was thinking white on the floor.

I have the black with a SSB over it, the patches where it shows get's covered in coraline. the white will add light, but that's a lot of scraping to do.

Paul don't put maricultured frag plugs in your tank and you'll avoid the turf algae.
