Torch coral melting?

I just noticed this morning that a part of the tentacles on my torch coral is melting off. It already detached from the base but I know its not dying off. I small part is ready to fall off but the tentacles are all ok... is that how they reproduce themselves?

Euphyllia sp. polyps detaching from the skeleton is an extremely bad sign. Please read the stuck thread atop this forum and detail your tank parameters.
