First what does it do for you if have a BB tank?
Second if i decide to do a small amount of sand does anyone recommend the starboard still?
And last, is starboard easier or harder to clean?
Thanks

  1. It helps protect the bottom glass from breaking in the event of a aquascaping collapse or you drop something heavy into the tank.
  2. If there's not enough sand to protect the glass from an accident mentioned above, I would recommend a solid substrate.
  3. It's easier to siphon detritus from on top of it, but open surfaces may turn purple with coralline algae

i use starboard ordered from the link above.....

starboard is not the same as ordinary cutting board...
its marine grade where it blocks uv...has a textered finish and doesnt bend or warp under long term use.....(more info in the website)..typically cost more than cutting boards....they have different color and sizes to choose from....

easy to sipon out detritus...and with the coraline growing on it...looks good to me..
