 if you're having difficulty making them stay in place, try using putty... make sure its the reef safe type. :)

your aquascaping ability is the artist in you ;).... keep trying until u like it yea its a pain in the arse but once you find the way you like it well you will like it :lol2:

also if a rock is to big or pointy get a hammer and break it till your satisfied to make it do what you want it to do ;)

there's an article in the current Marine Fish about "live framing", basically using you pvc as towers, cutting holes in them for water flow and to attach hooked rock (rock with smaller, notched pvc). the hooked pieces are then removable. its a rather detailed article.

I also agree with Zany, take your time and.... enjoy the set up.. haha seriously.

to make it easier you need 2 people, you in the front telling the other where to put the rock.take your time ,must have a lot of paitence, bigger rocks on the bottom, make sure the once you put on top are resting solid on the bottom rocks. try to make openings and try to leave enough space on the sides so you can clean with tha mag float, good luck

Does anyone live on Long Island that would want to come help me aquascape my LR? I am having such a hard time!! Thanks!!

Ian:tired:

It all depends on your personal taste, what shape your rocks are, if you want caves? a lot of different factors
I spent nights and nights playing around with my live rocks until I was happy with it then I epoxied them.
Here's a pic of my tank when I 1st set it up, hope this helps!

great job rfny...looks very cool.

GCFD....if you want a new way to think...you can look at it as a puzzle....I do this....

Take a big rock, and decide where you would want it...then figure out what other rock would work with the 1st rock...and so on....

Ian, it may be a little late now, but the easiest way to have a cool aquascape is to choose a few cool shaped large rocks. Some of the best looking scapes only have 6-10 rocks but they're nice sized ones. You will easily be able to create the simple is more look, rather than a man-made pile of small rocks look :D

Here's my 'scape for ideas. Ther are not glued together, just used the nooks & crannies they naturally had to 'Lego' them together. I did have a collapse a couple of times but it's pretty strurdy now.

It's true about selecting cool shaped rocks:
