Ok, so another question or perhaps advice/opinion...

I have had my nano for almost two years. Are the bio balls and ceramic rings that sit in the back important and beneficial...they have been in there since day One. I was told to take them out before starting my tank, I did not obviously. But, now I am wondering if they have been all or partial the cause for some of the problems in my tank?
Would removing them NOW, cause my tank to cycle or harm it?

Thanks!

They would be a nitrate factory and would cause problems, what else do you have in there that supports beneficial bacteria(rocks, sand etc.).Removing the bio media may cause a cycle if the rest of the tank doesnt have enough bacteria to cope with your livestock(whitch you should mention)

Bio Balls

Thanks for the advice, which is something I thought of...

I have two clowns,a dotty back, wheeler goby, pygmy gobie. One cleaner shrimp, two porcelain crabs, about 12 hermits/16 total snails. A colony of yellow polyps and one small leather coral. approx #20 of live rock, and 1 1/2 inch live sand bed.
The tank is 24G with the new Halide light made for the 24G deluxe.

I hope this helps and thanks for the advice!
