Needs a Good Protein Skimmer!!

I have a JBL 12 Gallon Nano w/ compact fluorescent and a 24 gallon AquaPod nano w/ 150watt HQI metal halide. I use 2 Fission Nano skimmers for these two tanks, but one of them is not running well. I purchase a Visi-Jet skimmer for the 12 gallon Nano, buy it is too tall for the tank. If any one is familiar with this model, can I reduce the height of the pvc tube to accomodate the tank size, without reducing efficiency? Does any one know of a better product for these two small tanks, without spending a fortune??:irked::grumpy::grumpy:

I do not know if this skimmer will fit, but I have used one on a 15 grow-out tank and it is a real skimmer and pulls out all kind of stuff

Hi,
I also have the Aquapod 12G with HQI
The fission nano skimmer is not working properly...too small
I?m using the AquaC Nano Remora
100% recommended and you have some room to fix it just at the back of the aquarium

thanks for all the replies!! My Fission seems to work sometimes, but it is not working so well today! Do you have the light canopy hinged to the tank? I just want to make sure that the Remora fits the back with the cover closed! Thanks!

Hi,
As I have the HQI I don?t use the glass cover...and it helps for the O2 exchange
To fix the Remora you need to use no cover
Have a look at my photos using the Remora with the MaxiJet Pump;

i seen people cut thier hoods to fit a remora....

also look into the aqua euro nano skimmers ...they are 11" tall
