i just finished my cycle and wanted to know if i could just dose the calcium part of the b-ionic or do i have to dose both parts? my calcium is 360 now.
IMO till you start adding SPS or other corals that need the high calc/ALK, you will probably be in the high 300's and 7-9 DKH just by doing weekly water changes
I find that its more important to test for alkalinity. At this point, I test ca maybe once a year, at best...it hasn't been below 400 in many years. But alkalinity varies almost every time I test (although it stays in the 3. something meq range...usually around 3.5....)
Maybe this might help. I started by adding the recommended dosage and I would measure my calcium level every time before a water change and after. It took me about a month to get to the correct amount to be added each night in order to maintain my Calcium level at 450-480. I add slightly more than the recommended.
