Hi all, I restarted a reef tank after my last one crashed after a power failure about 4 years ago. I have a wet/dry and sump combo and wanted to know what was best to replace the plastic bio-media? Is plain old live rock the best thing so nitrates stay low, I will be keeping SPS and a few fish.

As long as the LR you use in the wet/dry is completely submerged it is much better than bioballs. I would also use LR rubble (no bigger than a golf ball size), rather than larger pieces of LR, you'll have MUCH more surface area this way.
