How long is the mount and is there a way to hang the system?

24" .. I've seen people hang them. I have a hanging kit i can include but cannot guarentee it.

Yes u can definitely hang them with the rail
Instead of hooking up the hanging kit to the lights u hook it up to the side screws of the rail (they r made for that so no worries)
