sexy shrimp? snails?

hey just wondering if anyone has any sexy shrimp they're looking to unload..i rescued one and have fell in love with them. ideally looking for like 4 (looking to stock my 10g full of them! i'm located at stony brook, btu don't have a car..if you can drop 'em off that'd be sweet..if you're in jersey and have some, i'd be able to pick them up on a sunday..i live in central jersey

i also need to restock my tank after my temperature dipped and snails died..looking for a bunch of astreas and ceriths, maybe some limpets and nerites..in short i need the algae munchers lol..also need like 3 blue leg hermits maybe some redlegs as well..please! i need a CUC!

edit: since i already started a thread, i'm also looking for some xenia..assorted kinds would be cool like white, blue, purple/pink and pulsing and some pompom

fyi, killing time in union square today and saw a half dozen sexy shrimp at petco 9.99 ea.
I know nothing about the quality of petco livestock. Just giving you a heads up.

yea i noticed the going rate is usually $15..where in jersey are you? i'm in central but they never get them in the stores i go to..i frequent absolutely fish, animals n things (mainly for hardware and salt) and ocean gallery ii<-- being my main lfs

the kid i rescued the sexy from said he got it form an lfs in hamilton, but that one sucked

This is totally off topic, but you can have a fish tank in your dorm?
Just curious, cause I know my friends who dorm at Stony had to hide their little fishbowl from the R.A.
Unless you have an apartment... *Edit* duh, of course you don't have an apartment, you can't have your car on campus... lol disregard the last statement.

Yeah, surprised me. They actually had a nice variety. Rainford gobies, some blue tuxedo urchins, fromias and choc chips, about half a dozen six lines that weren't going albino, etc etc.

yep, the RAs are real pricks here though..i printed out the housing contract and kept it on hand when they came in for health and safety inspections..it says there are no pets EXCEPT fish, you can have up to a 15gal tank and only one tank..some RAs have a problem with mh lights, especially if they get near them and feel that massive amount of heat that comes off of them and i've heard of some schools banning mh units all together. then they said you're only allowed to have one fish, but the housing contract only talks about volume and not so much contents, as long as it is a fish

so asmaa =/= asthma eh, interesting

rainfords?! i wanted one of those but didn't want to order them my 10gal is fully stocked with a clown, clown goby and yellow watchman..any way i can fit a rainfor and clown in a 7.5g? lol thats a lot to ask i know

Ooooh very nice! Smart thinking, I should let my friends know so they don't have to keep hiding their fishy, lol.
My brother was an R.A. at Stony, he didn't care about people having fish, but then again, I don't think he ever saw anyone with a full blown saltwater tank either, haha.

So just curious, what do you do during holidays? Like, how do you care for the tank, etc?

And nope, NOT Asthma, even though it's spelled funny, it's pronounced Us-Mah... go ask any Pakistani/Indian person at Stony, they'll tell you how it's pronounced

haha nice..over breaks i have a few friends that live in off campus housing for spring break and unfortunately i have to tear my tank down every few months(winter break and summer break) which is why my tank is always changing..it isn't for the best, at all, but it keeps it interesting..my scape changes, i'm on my third tank..went from a 5.5g and when i brought it home for the summer, got a 7.5g cube, then when i came back for fall i came back with a 10gal and am with that now..i wanted to change my sand and since the upgrade and travel would have screwed it up anyway, i just started with new sand when i got here and that ended up working out, no cycle or anything as all my lr ( ~15#) helped keep my tank stable..i go worry about leaving my tank with people who don't know about fish keeping, but i have a fish feeder, feeds every other day while i'm gone, and all i do it 20% wc before i leave then all they do is top off every other day..next upgrade is obviously an ato, i'm just too cheap to spring for one lol
