i was wondering if i have to change all the water in the main tank because i poured Kordon rid ich + into the tank, out of frustration. I emailed Kordon and they told me their product had no copper but its not reef safe.
what should i do next?
Re-cycle?
check the water?
20% water change?

thanks for the replies

Pray. Then I would do small water changes each day untill you are sure it is out of there. Also add carbon to your filter. Then Pray some more.

I actually would suggest as big a water change as possible! 50% or more. Run polyfilter and carbon immediately! These will remove toxins and de-toxify your tank by removing the chemical you added.

Good luck.

not in they way your thinking, of nitrates and ammonia but toxins that may stay in your rock for a bit.

that means no corals for a few weeks until everything leaches out, otherwise your gonna kill more coral

BTW
are you planning of lightening your fishload?

say the hail mary 10x, our father 10x and then pray to the saltwater marine god and hope that your tank is going to be ok. hehe def. do the 50% water change and add the carbon in some form (power filter etc...) and the polyfilter as solby suggested. take all the corals out and put them in a hospital tank asap. so they dont die.. well hopefully everything goes well for you. best of luck........

ps. i forgot to mention the nice people here that would be very happy to coral sit for you... thanks for bringing that up john...

If your setting up a hospital tank make sure you realize this tank is going to be around for a few weeks. I would not put corals back in for atleast a month to be on the safe side. Like Drzl said the toxins will be absorbed by your LR and leach out killing all corals in your tank. Also if you have any inverts I would also put them in with the corals If its not reef safe its probably not invert safe meaning shrimp, stars, snails, hermits all may die which could lead to a cycle of some sort.

Also if you feel as if a hospital tank is not possible for whatever reason there are people here who im sure will hold your stuff for you until you feel comfortable putting it all back in the tank. I know I can keep your inverts in my QT which is empty right now if you'd like
