Is my montipora bleaching?

I got this two days ago and put it about 4 in off the bottom so it can gat use to the light?

no not bleaching. probably either your alk is swinging through the day or its not liking where your alk is in your tank

I moved it to the shad when I originaly saw it.
Sudjestions on alk I should strive for?

So your saying you think I may loose it if I start dosing now to bring alk up?

you cant bring alk up fast or you will lose alot more then that one cap. you need to make sure your alk is where its supposed to be before making purchases of SPS. its one of the if not the most important parameter to be stable and in the right range. Alk is the only parameter i check twice weekly for my sps tank and i run a reactor. im just real cautious being i dont want to lose anything.

Ok well that's a lesson I missed. I was just trying to keep my peramiters within range from the water parameters chart I have from Reefkeeping on line and it stated 7-11dkh I figured I was just about at 7 so I should be good. Guess not! I would have never made the purchase other wise.

Well the cap Is looking better? Not really sure what the problem was.
It turns out my Alk probably was not a factor.
I was using Hannah checker that was giving me a reading of 6.88 I also have Red Sea checker that iis giving me a 8.2 reading. I measured a fresh batch of salt mix ( I use Red Sea Pro) against my Hannah kit and my Red Sea kit and the Red Sea kit is dead on with what Red Sea lists on the bucket. I will only be using my Red Sea test kits from now on.
I also ordered two BRS dosing pumps with some B-ionics and will start monetering my alk and dose accordingly.
