Millies and flow

I Know this is a no brainer but I have a question.


I would like to know from any exper. on this site if the rate of flow is a big factor in the milli's pollyp extention and also in growth

i have 1 millie in 2 different places. One that has very high flow the polyps dont exdend to much but the one with med flow has a very big polyp extention. so i would have to say that flow plays a big role in polyp extention on Millies.

I see that to I guess it is different types of flow that control their pollpy exten.

all my milles (4 colonies and 1 frag) are about 15-20" away from my powerhead and love the random and various flow patterns..

mine are in high flow and they love every min of it

That is the thing I have 4 of them and they all like the high flow

I agree, High flow. My Sunset, Scripps, and Copps Blue are all ~10" away from Tunze 6105(turned to full power) with random flow.

the trick is the lighting... how far from the water level are all millies placed?

i have mine mid way from the top.

~8" from the top. Lights mounted ~12" from water(250W SE 20K Radium's)

I have mine close to the top and they seem to like a lot of flow.
