Btld my son Matthew just turned 1 and is the best thing in my life!
I've been working on a 225 gal build the hardest part was finding time and if I had 15 min to work on it I'd try and make them count ! Tomorrow it will be up and running and I'm very happy! I've been working on it for 2 months every spare second!
My hats off to anyone who keeps reefing with young kids its hard to balance the time I'm really hoping he takes an interest in the tank and we can do it together one day!

My 3 month old is obsessed with my tank. i'm sure he'll be a great helper one day. My 4 yo likes it too but he doesn't seem like he's going to be much of help :) For me the automation has been key to maintaining the tank with kids.

she does try to help me.... always ends up sticking her hands in the sump and splashes around. I just have to look at her an laugh.

anyways, some update pics. btw trying to bring tank back up to 1.024 I don't think my chalices are doing good at all. fingers are crossed.

In preparation for hurricane season I have decided to DIY battery backup connections for my mp40w pumps. I know that the actual battery backup that ecotech makes is a great product. I just don't feel like spending the money and I am not exactly sure how many I would need, I run 4 mp40wes on my 180g. So I just soldered wires to the driver and I made it so that it can be connected to any 12v car battery. This way if the battery starts getting low I can always use my car to recharge it. Obviously, this is a very easy thing to do. Just feel like posting a pic so that anybody else who wants to do this can see where to solder to.
