I decided to upgrade my 23yr old 135RR Oceanic tank to 'something bigger'.
My space is limited by my house which is an Old Victorian with narrow doors.
My setup presently resides in my basement and I wanted to keep my new tank there as well.
After some quick calculations I figured that a 7ft tank would make it through my basement doors. In June, I purchased a 7ft 265g Marineland with dual overflows (85.5x24x30) The extra 1.5" in length is for the injection molded frame I didn't anticipate until after I purchased it. The tank & stand sat in my garage until Sunday when I had the time and manpower to move it.
Using the stand to determine the best way to move the tank, 5 of us began the next 4 hr journey. The extra length posed a few problems with turns and tilts. I soon realized that I would have to excavate the floor in my basement to enable the tank to tilt. Problem is that old Victorians are built like fortresses and are stone at the thresholds. After digging down about a ft we removed 2 large bluestone slabs >150lbs to enable the tilt. Success! Now the tank. I purchased 4 Damo 8" suction cups which turned out to be well worth the cost. The Tank is 400lbs, and once in that 12" hole was a PITA to lift . Finally after 3 hrs we got the tank through the threshold and onto the stand. And here it is...
Setup will be using 100g Rubbermaid sump, 90g salt mixing tank, 150g fresh water reservoir, auto topoff & waterchanges, 5 LED ( 2 Ecoray 112D & 3 Orphek PR156) Refugium, BM 220(in sump) & PM Bull 3 skimmers(external), Tunze 6255, 6205x2 for circulation, RKE controller, 1/2 hp chiller & Reeflo Gold Barracuda/ Hammerhead (~4800gph)
Will be working on plumbing this week and ordering Marcorock & livesand in the next day or so. I will be harvesting livestock & rock from old system. The old rock I will use as biologic filtration in the sump so the transition for livestock will be less stressful. More photos to come.

Still waiting on the sand.

Finally got moving on this project. Plumbing done and water testing. Found a new use for old equipment- retrofitted my Kold-steril to become GFO/carbon/bead reactor. Got a slick 3/4" pvc solenoid for auto water changes to be hooked into my RKE controller.
Sand added. Aquascaping today.
