It's done, transfer is complete. I had to add over 60 gals to the system.
And i'm starting an acrylic tank on the side, running off the same system.
I'll fine tune it during the next couple of days.

what is that pipe your lmb is hiding in? that is really cute!
A piece of pvc... that supplies my return water. (pump was off during transfer)

Wow, you must have a cool super to let you do all that work in your apartment:D.

I hope you have a siphon break in those two return pipes, you don't want a flood the first time the return pump gets turned off.

Every thing is totally removable and no changes have been done to the APT.
When they saw my 55, they blamed every leak since then on my tank only to learn everytime they were WRONGGG

Valves? you mean you have a check valve between your return outlet and your return pump? Those flapper gate valves will not work right after a while and will not stop the tank from draining back into your sump.

A siphon break is a small hole drilled in the return pipe, preferably close to the surface of your tank. The little hole will allow air in the pipe, breaking the siphon when the pump is off and gravity is pulling the water out of your tank back into the sump.

Yes, the pipe work was custom work and has two holes, one one each side. just below the water line...
Thanks for the info... I did not put them there, the installer thought ahead. good for him, great for me..

WE DID IT............that tank is off the meat rack...........leo ..come to my house..........free frags for all my friends...kenya trees have morfed with the zoo's i call them zookenyas...........they sit right next to the platano zoo's.........................
