I have seen @greybolt tank. It is 72X24 and 2 V4 cover it nicely.

And he got nice SPS colors? what is options to mount them.?

72 X 36 and 24 high? You will need only 4. I know they say each light covers 48 X 40 or something. Realistically it covers 40 X 24 with ease. So 2 rows of 2 should be plenty for your tank.

I am working on mounting plans. I do not want to hang them from the ceiling.

I agree 100%....I s/w Orphek about my tank (72"L x 24"D x 28" H) and they advised me that 2 V4's would suffice so I would think that for a 36"D tank 4 would be plenty.
