220gal
2X 250w MH 14000k with standard ballasts,
red sea skimmer.
30gal sump with 55w pc 24/7
Kent bio-sediment and lots of Macro in sump
2nd Refuge 6 gal (above the tank) with Kent bio-sediment and lots of Macro and feather duster worms
7 in deep sand bed - 150 lbs of live rock & 150 lbs of base rock
xenia, mushrooms, star polyps, carpet anemone, leathers and asst hard coral.
I have purchased a lot from the Reef Tank and Marine Scene.
Asst small fish. 150 hermits and 50 snails
1 tsp Kalkwasser, 2 drops Kent lugols, 8 drops Kent strontium
& molybdenum in 2 gallon of make-up water every morning.
2 tsp Caribsea Aragomilk ever night.
I feed the tank a lot.
For the coral: DT's mixed with Marc Weiss* black powder and spectra vital.
For the fish: Brine shrimp and krill and squid mixed in a food processor.

Hi Nathan, welcome to reefs.org.

I'm looking at your display, and it's quite impressive. It appears to be establishing itself quite nicely. Can you share some more information, such as how long it's been set up, how long it took you to get it to this state, where and how you acquired specimens, what equipment you chose or built, how and why, please? Every successful system that is as closely monitored as yours appears to be adds to the growing wealth of information out there.

As a woman who is all about "makin' it cheap", I'm a huge fan of DIY'ing it wherever you can, too. Really nice site!

*I know all of the stories (pro & can) about this stuff. I have done a lot of lab grade testing (In my prop systems) of this stuff and color, growth and overall health is always better when I use it. The combination of these two products will change the color and polyp extension for the best looking coral.
