Hi
Never posted here before, but I just moved to Astoria a few weeks ago. I lived near Boston and was an active member of the boston reefers society until the move, but I have poked in here a few times. The tank started a year ago and the contents have gone through 2 different tanks before the current one. I built everything except the tank itself which was made by glasscages. Here are the specs
24x24x18 high 1/2" starphire 3 sides. Barebottom...but only because we couldnt lift the tank with the sand in it and I decided to try the look (4th floor walkup).
15 gallon acrylic sump with refugium
6 24w T5s (recent change from 250MH)
grossly oversized Orca skimmer, nano-sized Ca reactor, lots of various other expensive junk.
I had a 24x18x8 frag tank plumbed into the system, but it took up too much valuable apartment space so it is no longer (for sale actually-thread coming soon).
The tank is pretty much entirely SPS with one chalice I like. I have pretty much cleaned out my beginner SPS and have a lot of the overpriced "designer" corals for some reason. I will hopefully have some frags of the hard-to-get stuff in a bit of time.
Here are some pics of it being set up, and the most recent pic I have is still from a month or so ago. I still need to find my camera and post recent pics. Thanks for looking, and I am looking forward to meeting some of you!
