My new 46g bow!

Ok, so I broke down the 55 fish only, now went to a 46g bow front, reef. (in progress) Here are some pics, the first one is before the swap yesterday, and the rest are AFTER the swap with all the goodies I brought home!
This stand is home made, I have plenty of room for a fuge/sump, which I'll add later (with drzl's help, I hope)

Hey Gerry Congrats on the 46!
Hell yea I'll help, you know Ive got your back.
You definetely wanna upgrade the skimmer, and as I told you for 50 bux (pump included) as an in sump, we can make a DIY ER that can handle 100+G,
one more word of advice (do I ever stop?..lol) Your gonna have to bring down the fish load for everything to stay happy and more balanced, so any fish that have been pissing you off or especially any of the bigger fish youd rather replace w/ smaller fish do it, your tank will love you for it. Remember in Reef tanks less is more sometimes.

Tanks looking great! When you get the chance replace some of those bigger fish with smaller fish like Andres said. Other than that you look like your in really good shape. I'd go for the skimmer Andres makes, it works.

Just make sure you get it to a good home and get a smaller one and let it grow out.

What dou you mean get a smaller one and let it grow out if I shouldn't have one in here? This one I got at 1 inch, now it's only about 2 1/2 inches.

I love the scaping and lighting but you must understand that a tank like this won't be successful unless you do a ridiculous amount of water changes. As of now you have a lot of fish, hardly any water flow, and almost no means of nutrient removal (a BACKPACK SKIMMER DOESN'T REALLY DO MUCH).

Things you should or could do:

Upgrade skimmer as DRZL said ASAP

add a fuge

use micron bags (if you add a sump) to remove wastes before it has a
chance to break down or you can just use a micron block in your HOB filter.

increase flow to help keep detritus in suspension.

For now I would hold off on adding more corals until you can upgrade your setup a bit and do large weekly water changes. Gerry I'm not trying to rain on your parade, just offering sound advice. If you need any help just let me know.

Yes, I'm offloading some fish, I'll do the setup with drzl, he only thing is.... The clowns stay. I'm getting a 20 gal for a fuge/sump, I'll set that up asap with an upgraded skimmer. I've been doing water changes about every 10 days all along with the 55.
Picking up the 20g with baffles midweek.
I'm also going to build the denitrator that is linked in the DIY section. I have 90% of the parts at work already, piece of cake to build.
The first fish to go, are 2 seargent major damsels. Anyboby want?

You could probably drop the foxface and the local caught fish(the brown/silver things) and you'd be much better off. JMO.

Gerry I have a Coil Denitrator made from acrylic, ill sell it to you for $30 if you want it.

on the ER skimmer do you have a home depot and a petsmart around you?

Home depot that sucks, no petsmart, petco. Not so great either. I can make the denitrifier, just need the endcaps! I have everything else, I think. Definitely the tubing.
