First attempt at reefing....

I bought the tank/stand from a friend of mine. I haven't really seen any others like it with the exception of the Oceanic 45. I put in a small mushroom the other day and so far my levels remained 0:birthday:. I added 3 blue/green chromis & 2 peppermint shrimp. and levels still remained: Nitrite 0, Amonia, 0, Nitrate, 0, and PH went up to 8.2. These tests were completed 5 minutes ago, while the fish/coral was added 5 days ago.

I'm very happy with the way the tank is coming along. So far, there's a pretty nice balance. I do have to say that I recently made a rookie error. I was talked into purchasing a red gorgonian two days ago, not realizing that it wasn't photosynthetic. I don't feel that I'm ready for non photosynthetic corals. Anyone interested in a trade of possibly a small photosynthetic frag? The gorgonian is small...maybe 3'tall X 3"wide. Nice looking coral. From now on, I won't make impulse buys. I'll do my research first, then pull the wallet out.

Either way. The tank looks beautiful so far (in my eyes). Thanks to all that lent me a hand, whether that be information, or helping me set up.

Thanks Rich. I've been adding calc/magnesium in addition to doing 10g. water changes every 3 weeks.

After I recharge my batteries, I'll post some full tank shots. I'm probably going to pick up some more SPS's tomorrow.

DHaut....
I've had the clowns and the one chromis together for about a month and they get along great. In fact, all three of them swim together. I initially had three chromis but had issues with the other two (fighting). My current chromis always stayed neutral. That was the only issue that I had with fish not getting along.
My current fish livestock includes:
2 Perculas
1 Blue/Green Chromis
1 Algae Blenny
1 Diamond Goby

I think this is enough of a fish bio-load for now. I actually think it's a little overstocked for my taste.

New Light and Corals.

Just picked up some new corals today, and hooked up my 250w 20" Sunpod yesterday. So far, I'm in love with the light.

Here are some new pics. I wish I were better with my camera because the pics really do the ricordia no justice. I also threw in a pic of my pink b/n since that too had some decent growth.
