i set up a 40g breeder and i figure i might as well keep the long and update pics..
i used a custom built stand, i made from 2x4s and some maple faced plywood stained dark cherry.. the stand is 40in tall.. the sump is in the closet with double sided sliding doors, its a 55g divided into 3 chambers, first is my mechanical compartment, the tank drains into a large filter sock, then i have my skimmer and my chiller running in this area, as well as my carbon and gfo.
second chamber is my sand bed(abt 3in) and my macro(cheato) where i have pods groing like crazy.. third chamber is my return chamber with a tee back to the first chamber to loop the sump for extra filtration..
im using a RKL to control my lights, which are a 6bulb t5 set up, i run(front to back) blue atinic, 10,000k daylight, fiji purple, ultra blue, daylight, blue attinic. as well as my moon light led bar.
it also runs my heater and chiller as a primary switch board and i use the controllers on the units as secondary. i keep a PC 6700k light on my sump..
the first tank shot is with an old PC light that i used for a few days until i got the t5.. you can see what a difference the light made.
well here are the pics.. from beginning to now..
