10k VS. 14K

I have heard that under 10K lighting sps will grow quicker than under 14K is this true?

I think the 10k lighting has more of the usable lighting spectrum. But fast growth does not really = good colors. Unless you're also using actinics at the same time. I prefer just the nice 14k bulbs.

10k is pretty close to sunlight, the 14k is more toward the blue spectrum (looks better to the eye, but less usable spectrum for the corals). Growing requires Ca and nutrients and lights.

I have the Outer Orbit 2x150 plus 4 actinic t5 bulbs It came with 10 k I switched to 14K ...And as for levels they are all on point ...Just curios about the lighting because some had mentioned it to me ...Thanks

6k is optimal but very yellow.

I have t5's, so i have one 6k bulb with two 14k to brighting it up.

My SPS's are going like crazy.
