i just got a brand new 125 rr tank 72 x 18 x 22
i am running a asm g2 skimmer for now
36" 6 bulb tek t5 light
36" dual 250 mh and 2 96watt pc, that will soon be upgraded from pcs to t5s
75 gallon 4 chamber sump/fuge
36" hang-on fuge.
2- magdrive 9.5

this is an upgrade for my 65 reef
i think i have about 120 pounds of rock in the 65. and i have 105 pounds of tonga rock coming in on thursday.

the tank is going to be put together in two weeks and then in about 3-4 weeks i am going to transfer everything from the 65 over.

i miss my 125

i know it may sound crazy but i have a tunze 230 skimmer that is mint and was used foronly 6 months, i upgraded to the g2 b/c the area in my sump where i kept the skimmer did not have a consistent water level and the tunze didn't like it, but when i had the level it liked it worked great. do you think that its a stupid idea to run both skimmers for now???

i was planing on doing that untill i sell my 65 gallon tank and then with the money with that buy a real good skimmer.

what are your plans for flow in the tank, seios or tunze?

i am not sure, i have a seio 800, seio 1100 and a seio 1500 but i need to get larger ones i am not sure and i don't want to send too much more money i want a controller

well i was gonna tell you not to get the seio 2600, i had two in my 125 and i was NOT impressed by the flow, so save ur money

if u ever have any questions bout setting up the 125, send me a PM i tried a lot of different things

what main pumps did you use was it more powerfull than two magdrive 9.5 (one for each inlet)

i used one pump, a mag 12, i dont like the idea of running the overflows individually.

i have the two pumps already and two brand new impellers. and i was plassing on hookung up one of them to my tsunami wave machine because it has a light sencer and will make a large drop in water current over night.

i normally try to have the least amount of things plugged in and try to cut back on heat issues

but it sounds like you have a great plan so far...

in terms of ur new skimmer, may i suggest a bermuda, I had one on my 125 w/ a heavy bioload and it kicked some major butt! and its fairly priced

do you think that the aquac ev180 with a mag7 is a good skimmer for this tank

its going to me a mix breed reef, sps, lps softies. very few fish 2 chromis, a percula clown and a sm rass. possibly my 3" hippo tang

if you don't think that this is a good choice for me then what would you should i get???
