14K Bulbs

Why aren't all 14k bulbs the same color? I recently changed my to Ushio 14K DE bulbs and I'm not happy. I've always used Phoenix 14K but was under the impression that they were no longer available so I tried the Ushio's which cost more. They completely changed the look of my tank. They look more like 10K. Shouldn't all 14K bulbs be more on the blue side?
The 2 end bulbs are Ushio and the center is a Phoenix.

I always found that the Ushio bulbs to be more yellow than blue, which is why I used the Hamilton 14k, which is a whitish blue color. I think if you over drive them they will show more blue.

I actually found the Phoenix again. I just have to find some time to change them out.

When it doubt check ebay, as people usually have old stock that you can get for cheap, that way you can stock up. In the end certain things are going away, I can't get the VHO bulbs that I use to you before anymore and once the last bulbs I have go I'm going to need to do something else.

I'm not sure which VHO bulbs you use but they are still available. PM me as they are not a vendor here.

That's been my same experience color wise between ushio and phoenix 14k Jim.
