220?

Ok, as some of you remember I was thinking about a 300g tank. Well, I can't do that. So I am looking at a 220 (72x30 tall x 24) or a 180 (72 x 24x 24). Does anyone have a 220 or a tank 30" tall? I am going with 400w halides over either tank, three in fact. Would they provide all the light I need fro stuff on the sand? I would like to hear from people that have a 30" tall tank or know of one.

My 225 is being delivered in about two weeks and will be using 3x400w's. With good reflectors you can grow sps and clams on the sandbed with that setup. For the 180 250w's would be sufficient in most cases.

My buddy just bought a 220g from DAROCK on here 2 weeks ago. He loves the tank, but hates the hight. It's going to be a royal pain in the ass if he ever gets an algae problem he said... Other then that, he loves it

I am 6ft 1" so have long arms, and I will have full access from both sides and back but not the front. I was wondering if the 400w MH would provide plenty of light for clams, brains, zoos, etc. that will be sitting on the 2" sand bed. I don't want things to survive, I want them to thrive.

That should be plenty of light for them.
