Hey guys,
I decided to build my own hood and install a metal halide system on my reef.
However, I have a great PC hood, if someone is looking for it.
As described on www.HamiltonTechnology.com/shop:
As you can see, they want a ridiculous amount of money for the hood...but I guess that's neither here nor there.
Here the hood is sitting on my 30 inch wide 29g. It didn't quite cover the entire top, but my xenia tripled in size, growing up the side wall, over the last 3 months. It left a few inches on each side, which I liked for topping off and feeding.
Fired up and working 100%. Bulbs were first fired on June 6th, and run approx. 9 hrs a day since. So, that's a little less than 3 months total on the bulbs.
The hood is a nice looking black plastic, with a slight texture to it. Excuse the few spots of salt, but there's no gouges or anything that would make you notice it wasn't 100% new.
Backside. 3 wires: 1 for actinics, 1 for 6500k, 1 for fan. Again with the salt residue. (not scratches or mars)
...upside down...
...and finally the manufacturer.
$100 + shipping (OBO)...or come pick it up in Princeton, NJ (hell, I'll even meet someone 1/2 way if necessary.
