46 gallon center brace.

I'm tired of the shadow that the center brace on my tank makes. I was thinking of cutting the center brace, leaving a little bit on both the front and the back, and then using nylon bolts, attach a strip of acrylic. What do you think, is it worth the risk.

Me personally, i would at least drain the tank half way then do what you have planned. Also use 2 nylon bolts and nuts and of thicker size

Do you think its worth it though. what i was also thinking i could shave the sides of the brace and then put an acrylic piece on the top and the bottom. would i still have to empty the tank.
