listen the prices are beyond fair, Service is Okay can be better at times but how can you blame them? I dont see anyone harpping on any of the other stores that are in long island or manhattan with there insanely high prices and some of the stores in long island dont even care for there corals and will try to sell them at retail prices even if its almost dead and you try to buy it to revive it. I dont see anyone doing that, Theres some stores in the city that sell $40 ATI T5 bulbs.....

like come on, I know there is no prices on the fish tanks at MAX REEF but Hey If you see it he has fish flying in and out of those tanks daily. He gets about 3 fish shipments a week i think maybe 2, For him to write prices on the tanks and take time for him to see witch fish are where THats money out of his pockets for his workers, By the time hes done writeing prices on the tanks by the end of the day he has to take the prices off cause all the fish are almost all gone.

Its not like some of these stores you walk into the fish have been there for 2weeks+ and covered with ICH or you see cyno in someof the tanks or you see floating fish dead everywhere. Ralph is doing a good job, Sometiems the workers can be a little bit nutty and not knowing what there talking about, Again you cant blame them i no they need to know prices cause they work there. But thats why you always ask questions. It never hurts to ask a few people prices in the stores.


some of you people need to take that into fact that fish fly off those tanks like hotcakes so does the coral half the time. If you take notes you see how there are certant sections of the frag tanks where the coral doesent really sell and tehre is prices on there. But also when ralphy has the time he does take that orange/yellow marker and trys his best to get some prices on those tanks.

Just my thoughts.

Nope, you write things on the internet wrong! Again no one cares or is complaining about rising prices!!! Read people.....it's about not everyone being on the same page on price whether for better or worse. The store is great, the fish are great, customer service is great minus the obvious problem. I know everyone has complaints about any given store but I've never seen anything like this except on canal street.....either have all employees on point about the price of fish or write them on the tank. And if the owner wants to hook up repeat customers that's his business ....again no one is complaining about rising prices!!!!!!

Your dead on with that canal st feeling. I live near Greenwich. Prices are INSANE. But that yellow tang is $65 at the store. And it's $65 now. Unless it's a sale. Not depending on who is interested in buying it. That's the Main issue I had the last few times there

This whole thread is unneeded and I'm honestly dissapointed in the mods for letting this run on so much. If anyone feels sooo d**n strongly on the matter at hand with customer price differences send them a pm or bring it up in person. Cuz I know for sure if I were to say like . "Hey I went to aquarium village a while ago to purchase an anemone and was told the price was 35 then they whisperd apon themselves and told me 65 instead yet the prior customer was told 35 before me aswell", my post would most likely be deleted for sake of there business.

I'm a 24 year old female and shop for shoes and coral in the same fashion. Compulsively. I've traveled from maximum reef(Yonkers ) to manhattan aquarium (obvi. manhattan) all the way out to pets warehous (copaigue Long Island ) in one day stopping at every little store in between. Not one, single, place can compete with the selection, health, SIZE or bang for your buck. And honestly I hate to break it to everyone but every store plays favorites!!!!! Even Petco people!!! Maybe you should consider more about your attitude when you approach people who are bagging your selection hahaha cuz I know for sure if you walk in to my job and act like a pompous know it all I'm probably going to make u pay alittle for it in one way or another. There is a deli by my job that has a cute little sign that says "prices vary on attitude" and I'm starting to feel more and more compelled to buy that for Ralph. He's and amazing person and I know for sure he dosnt need to see any of this posted publicly.

So now everyone lets put our big boy pants back on and stop chit chatting like a group of high school girls hangin out in the bathroom and refrain from blowing up this harmless thread that was started for the purpose of making people happy. Smh.

5 days a week awe your sarcasm is cute. Siighhhhh. I go every Sunday I'm off which is every other Sunday or when I need carib'seawater, ill clear that up since apparently people on here feel the need to monitor where I go and how often it's hysterical I'll take it as flattery though. I'm happy with them entirly. U got a problem with something be a grow up and confront him about it. Seriously now is this a hard concept to grasp lol?
