So yep. this is the famous Dave ESPI 37 gallon collumn reef tank.

37 gallon AGA tank.
Open top.
Plennumn system (1/4 inch lift with eggcrate and nylon mesh).
Substrate : Aragonite (Specialreef grade), reef rubble, oolitic sand, and chunks of LR mixed sand bed.
48 pounds Ultra premium Fiji rock ( the good stuff from almost 10 years ago)

250W MH Custom Sealife Prizm pendant w 2 x 32 W PC One PC bulb runs 24/7
2 Powersweep powerheads
1 DUETTO internal filter
200 W heater
Auto topoff unit (Jushphyshy design) w/ 2.5 gal reserve RODI water
Otto 200 Powerhead with QUEEN internal protein skimmer (japan mfg).

nope not a problem with him. He actualy is very cool. I've had about 6 of them in my time of keeping reefs. My first one got to be the size of my fist. Was named "Diesel". Carried a 9 ounce Congh shell around as his home. A bit clutzy for my reef at that size, so he went into a FOWLR tank. Lived for like 6 years, moved my tanks, and saddly he died in a heatwave.

They can on occasion nibble corals, but usualy just for the alga growing on them.

I added some mushrooms this week.

THis tank is almost EXACTLY replicated at the Mystic Seaport Aquarium. I visited it last month. I was blown away that there was a tank in existance that had nearly all the EXACT species of corals in it as mine and looked as damn good too ! I have to just add one species of mushroom to it, and they will match exactly (except I have tomato clowns and the one at MSPA has perkies.)
