I've been researching Anemones for a bit and wanted to see if anyone had some tried and true advice for acclimating and maintaining Anemones - specifically a long tenacle anemone - Macrodactyla doreenensis.
I can give you advice on anemones in general but not necesarily LTA's. I had an LTA die actually.
I have had a haddoni carpet anemone for over 2 years now. I provide Direct, intense lighting, clean water, and I feed and the clown feeds the anemone regularly.
Light,
water quality
and feedings.
If your anemone is not happy, it will move around your tank till it finds a suitable place. Anemones ...especially carpets and lta's will also eat any fish in the area. Any fish that is slow, perching or dumb that goes near an LTA will get snagged.
I had an allergic reaction to my LTA when I touched it. My arm got hot and red and swelled a bit. I reccommend using gloves.
