Happy New Year Everyone!

We are pleased to announce that the December 2007 issue of Advanced Aquarist is now available in PDF format. Head over to http://www.advancedaquarist.com/pdf to download your copy. It's a 41 page, 17 MB download.

Also, we are looking into creating a 2007 printed volume (either full color or black and white to save some cost for you). We'd like your feedback on this idea, so please cast your vote above!

We are very interested in your feedback; If you have any questions or comments, please email us at [email protected].

If you are an author and would like to write for us, please email [email protected] for article proposals, authoring guidelines, and current article pay rates.

If you have an aquarium that you'd like to showcase in our magazine, please email Wade Lehmann at [email protected] and he can walk you through writing an article about it.

Enjoy the issue!

Good point. :)

I'm going to go through that in the next couple days as I need to compare two print-on-demand vendors: Lulu and CreateSpace (CreateSpace is Amazon.com POD company). I've already done quite a bit w/ Lulu (actually have a test print coming back from them in the next couple days) but CreateSpace looks interesting since it would allow sales through Amazon.

I can tell you that the printed version will look similar to our PDFs except that we'd only put the primary content articles into the print. We'd remove the Tips, What in Neptune's World, etc, to give everyone only the premium content at a good price. I could post the TOC if people are interested...

Looks like my test print of one of our magazine issues from Lulu should be here either today or Monday. :) I ordered this one to see what a 100% color magazine would look like from Lulu. As soon as I get it I'll post some photos and some feedback on it.

Also looks like I'll be using Lulu for this volume print as while CreateSpace has definite advantages (listed on amazon.com, free ISBN), they don't allow for 100% color books with more than 100 pages per book. Lulu allows for 400 color pages. The print ready PDF that I currently have is almost 300 pages.

It arrived and it looks AWESOME!!! :D I'll snap some pics tonight and upload them or maybe I'll take some time to figure out how to create a YouTube video of it. :)
