Are all sixline wrasses aggressive or can I get lucky with a passive one? I have a lot of little snails and some flatworms I am hoping a sixline will eat but I don't want one that will bully my other fish.

It's highly likely that it will be aggressive. If not immediately, then eventually as it gets older.

I too have never met a passive 6-line. I love them and most of my tanks have had one but they are definitely not 'nice' fish. It's not like tang aggression though (focus in on one fish and pummel it until it's dead or gone). Rather, a 6-line tries to mind it's own business but has a chip on it's shoulder. With a tank of sufficient size, swimming room, and enough fish to spread out the aggression though - most fish will get along just fine.

I've never tried mixing 6-lines with other wrasses. I've heard of good and bad results but never tried it.

Of the three I've kept, two have been terrors. The other was a fairly good citizen, who would posture a bit but never physically go after another fish. By in large I think most of them have attitudes and once they put some size on can be very nasty.

They are almost always somewhat aggressive, but not always to the point of being problematic. It's usually just a matter of stocking the tank wisely, and adding the Sixline last. Add it first, and it's over. If you're also planning on keeping say a C. argi, a fish that also should be added last, well then you have to just roll the dice and pick.

I never had any major issues with mine.

The only truly evil fish I've ever kept was this guy to the right ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
2" long, with extreme prejudice attacked a 15" Queensland grouper as soon as he made his way to the bottom of the tank, maybe 9 seconds.
60 seconds late he bagged up and on hi s way back to the store.

This was many years ago before I knew better than to keep an undulates with anything, or to keep a Queensland at all.

The only fish that has ever CHASED ME was a blue devil damsel and humu humu triggers (yes, a multiplicity of them). One, who was in quarantine for a while at LBAOP, and who was far too chummy with that little Napoleon wrasse for my tastes, I knew they would come to no good. And then the others were in Guam while snorkeling and diving, the little turds. The undulatus triggers just looked at me and went their merry way.

I ran away from a Picasso trigger once (read: backed away slowly without making any threatening moves...yeah, try backing up with flippers on  ). Embarassing story, but crap that fish scared me witless. Relentless little fucker  I mean, a shark you can punch in the nose. What are you supposed to do against a 6 inch fish that's faster than lightspeed?? Watch it dismember you half an inch at a time?? LMAO

Ooops, sorry EDIT: sixline wrasse=evil incarnate. Jussayin..

I changed my board settings...it's on my left.

I'll never forget watching one of those train-wreck into a feeder goldfish back in my LFS days. He zipped from the bottom corner of an 8-foot tank to the top corner on the far end when the feeders were dropped in. He literally swam right through the goldfish removing the entire front have of the goldfish's body.
